Nani Reveals Invincibles Hope
Manchester United midfielder Nani has spoken of his hopes that the Red Devils can go the whole league season unbeaten as they aim to claim a record 19th title.
The Portugal international notched the winner against Stoke on Tuesday night which made it 20 games unbeaten so far in the top flight for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who also moved three points clear at the top with the win.
Arsenal's 'Invincibles' pulled off the amazing feat of going unbeaten in 2003/2004 Premier League season and Nani is hoping United can do the same.
He said: "I hope we can go the whole season unbeaten.
"We are in a great position. We have been doing so well. We have to keep working hard and doing the same things.
"Providing we stay together I feel we will finish the season with something very special."
Javier Hernandez notched the opener against the Potters - his ninth goal of the season - before Dean Whitehead equalised just after half time and Nani was keen to praise his team-mate's goalscoring prowess.
"Javier has had a great start to his Manchester United career," said Nani.
"He always scores at the right moment, when we need it. He has been a key player this season."
Nani returned to face the Potters following a hip problem that has restricted his ability to train and forced him to miss three matches over the festive period.
He is now hoping to notch more goals as the Red Devils prepare to face old rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup on Sunday, followed by a tough trip to White Hart Lane to take on Spurs.
Nani added: "It has been frustrating to miss the matches.
"I have had to watch them in my house, when sometimes things have not got right and I feel I could help.
"But I feel OK now. I still need to train more but I am proud of my goal and hope to score more as the season goes on."
