No Question Of Kiko Deal

Neil Warnock has stressed that Sir Alex has no intention of losing Federico Macheda on a permanent basis.

The Italian striker has joined Queens Park Rangers on loan for the rest of the season and made his debut as a substitute in the home defeat to Norwich.

As Macheda looks to impress and make up for a disappointing temporary stint at Sampdoria this time last year, there is no question in the Rangers manager's mind that a full-time transfer can be struck.

"He's a big fan of him is Sir Alex," Warnock told a press conference. "He doesn't want to let him go. He thinks there's something there in the player and he's no thoughts about a sell-on if we'd like to buy him.

"He doesn't want to let him go and Sir Alex doesn't do that with many, unless he thinks there's something there."

The stunning debut winner against Aston Villa seems like a distant memory and Macheda is keen to put it in the past and forge his own future. It's something Warnock fully understands.

"They've got some great players and for a 17-year-old to try and get established, irrespective of what he did on his debut, is almost impossible with what they have," he added. "This is a chance for Kiko to try and get into the team."

Macheda, meanwhile, has backed United to recover from successive defeats to Blackburn and Newcastle.

It's clear that the 3-0 reverse at the Sports Direct Arena, the scene of the hat-trick for the Reserves that propelled him into first-team contention for that Villa strike in 2009, hurt the 20-year-old.

"I saw the game on TV and United, at the moment, are struggling with injuries so it is not a good moment for them," he said. "However, they will get back because they have great players, the players to win and fight.
