Reds Heading To Hanover

Manchester United will return to Hanover for the first time since 1965 to play the final match of the 2012 pre-season tour, delivered to the world by DHL.

The match against Hannover 96 will take place on 11 August at the AWD Arena, with the Chevrolet Cup being presented to the winners.

Announcing the game, chief executive David Gill said: “All matches for our pre-season tour are now finalised and I am delighted we will be ending the tour with a match against Hannover 96. Germany is a great footballing nation and we are looking forward to playing in front of our many fans in that region."

John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express Europe, said: “We are delighted to be involved in another tour with Manchester United. Using our global network we’ll be supporting the back-room team to prepare for the Hanover leg of the tour and ensure that the team are ready to deliver success on the pitch.”

Joel Ewanick, General Motors global chief marketing officer, added: “The Chevrolet family is proud to partner with Manchester United to bring the team to Germany and the thousands of their fans there. Fans are at the heart of our sponsorship with a constant focus on bringing supporters around the world closer to the game than ever before.”

Hanover will be the Reds' sixth tour destination following Durban (18 July), Cape Town (21 July), Shanghai (25 July), Oslo (5 August) and Gothenburg (8 August).
