Reds Trio Up For Awards

Three United players are in the running for recognition at this year's Northwest Football Awards.

Antonio Valencia, Nick Powell and Mats Daehli are the trio in question after being named as finalists in their respective categories with fans voting for their favourites.

Winger Valencia, who swept the board at the club's awards ceremony at the end of last season, is competing wtih Vincent Kompany and Martin Skrtel for Premier League Northwest Player of the Year.

Powell's efforts for Crewe ensure he is in contention for the League Two Northwest Player of the Year and Rising Star accolade with Norwegian prospect Daehli also shortlisted for the latter prize.
