Manchester United may have won the Barclays Premier League 13 times, but this year's is only the third occasion the Reds have clinched the trophy at Old Trafford.

On 16 May 1999, everything was set up nicely for a final-day spectacular against Tottenham but the visitors went ahead, doing their arch-rivals Arsenal a huge favour, through a Les Ferdinand lob. David Beckham smashed the Reds level and Andy Cole came off the bench to lift the winner over Ian Walker. Of course, it was the first leg of the Treble with unprecedented glory to follow in the coming days.

Exactly a decade later, United sealed an 18th title with a goalless draw with Arsenal at the Theatre of Dreams. A crowd of 75,468 saw Sir Alex's side get the point required to equal Liverpool's record of league crowns.

There have been other occasions where the Reds have played at home in the lead-up to winning the trophy, most notably in 2001 when Coventry were downed 4-2 and Arsenal slipped up 3-0 at home to Middlesbrough later in the day to end their challenge.

In 1997, a 3-3 home draw with Middlesbrough, featuring a rare Gary Neville strike, proved sufficient when, the following day, Newcastle and Liverpool failed to win at West Ham and Wimbledon respectively. It took a 3-2 reverse for Arsenal at Leeds to wrap things up in 2003 after United thumped Charlton 4-1 at Old Trafford a day earlier.
