Champions Review: November
ManUtd.com's review of the 20th title moves on to November...
Overview It was a mixed month at home and abroad for the Reds starting and ending on a high, for Robin van Persie in particular, with important strikes against former club Arsenal and West Ham (United's quickest goal of the season after 33 seconds) at Old Trafford. Come-from-behind wins at Braga and Aston Villa were followed by 1-0 defeats away to Norwich and Galatasaray, but the loss in Turkey didn't matter after qualification for the knock-out stages had been secured in Portugal earlier in the month.
Key moment Javier Hernandez came off the bench to inspire the Reds in a vital win at Villa Park with an impressive double (he left the pitch with the match ball but his second goal was later credited to Villa's Ron Vlaar). Andreas Weimann struck either side of half-time before Chicha entered the fray at the break and did the business in front of goal.
Star man Chicharito collected ManUtd.com's monthly individual prize for the second successive month. Four goals in six games, including those vital strikes in the Midlands, earned the Mexican 67% of the votes.
State of play The Reds ended the month on top, one point ahead of Manchester City, seven in front of third-placed Chelsea.
