Reds Help With Watch Designs
The players will have the chance to put their design skills to the test thanks to the club's partnership with leading timepiece brand Bulova.
United and Bulova have agreed a three-year sponsorship deal, with Bulova named as the Reds' official timekeeper and global partner. As part of Bulova's global marketing campaign, which was launched on Friday at the Aon Training Complex, the players and coaching staff will be given custom co-branded and engraved timepieces in 2014. And the players will have the opportunity to choose specific watch finishes and materials in order to personalise their special gifts.
Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Shinji Kagawa, Phil Jones and Sam Johnstone were all in attendance at Friday's launch at the Aon Training Complex where they were joined by Greg Thumm, President of Bulova, and United’s Head of Marketing Jonathan Rigby. And Rooney says the players are looking forward to giving their input to the creation process of the watches. “It’s exciting to design a watch. I don't know what I’ll do yet, but the design will probably be something that includes my kids. It will be good to be part of,” said the striker.
Co-branded Swiss-made watches for consumers will be unveiled in spring 2014, each featuring the club crest, and select styles will be available in limited edition solid gold, titanium and stainless steel models.
