Manchester United has today announced that the team will play AS Roma and Inter Milan during the club’s Tour 2014, presented by Aon.

United will play AS Roma at Denver’s Sports Authority Field on Saturday 26 July, before travelling to Washington DC to face Inter Milan at the FedEx Field on Tuesday 29 July.

These matches will be part of the 2014 International Champions Cup. Details about United’s additional matches for Tour 2014, presented by Aon, will be announced in due course.

Manchester United last played AS Roma in the 2007/08 season, beating them 3-0 on aggregate in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals before going on to win the tournament.

United’s last encounter with Inter Milan was in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League in the 2008/09 season, with United winning 2-0 on aggregate.

Manchester United group managing director, Richard Arnold, said: “These two matches against strong opposition will provide David Moyes and his team with valuable preparation for the 2014/15 season.

“The team last played in Washington DC in 2011 and the match against Barcelona was extremely well supported. This will be the team’s first visit to Denver and we are excited to meet our fans in this city for the first time.

“Manchester United has over eight million followers across the United States and Tour 2014, presented by Aon, will be a great opportunity to travel the country and bring the fans closer to the club they love.”
