Fletch And The Bootroom Boys
In an exclusive Inside United interview, Darren Fletcher dragged along some of the backroom staff to his magazine photoshoot. Here, he explains why...
I wanted to introduce some of the staff behind the scenes to the fans. These people are rarely seen but play such an important role with the players, whether it's picking up the dressing room after a bad result or helping the lads with what we need, when we need it. The staff have always been fantastic without getting much recognition, so I wanted to give an idea of how close the whole group is...
Carl Warburton (left): It only took him three years of being around the squad, but Carl is finally over his phobia of the first-team dressing room and talking to the players. We're all delighted for him.
Alex Wylie (centre-left): Albert Morgan's old assistant finally gets his chance to shine at the top, and he could be a future club ambassador in the making. He'll have to sort out his taste in music first, mind you, before anything is made official.
Ian Buckingham (centre right): Those long arms give Ian the perfect physique for a kitman! He never stops talking at us with his repetitive banter, and "bore off Bucks" is a common theme in the dressing room.
Mark Ferendenus (right): A newcomer to the team and the dressing room, but he's showing signs of coming out of his shell. It's also nice for us to have a Jim Ryan look-alike around the place, following Jim's retirement.
