Reds Ready For Vidic Reunion

Anders Lindegaard and Jonny Evans are relishing a reunion with a familar face during Tour 2014, presented by Aon, when Manchester United take on Inter Milan in Washington DC.

The game, at FedEx Field on 29 July, is part of the International Champions Cup and will feature none other than Nemanja Vidic in the opposition camp.

The Serbian waved farewell to the Reds last month after eight years at Old Trafford and Lindegaard and Evans are eagerly awaiting a clash with their former skipper.

"It’s definitely going to be fun," Anders told ManUtd.com before he headed off on holiday for the summer.

"Luckily I’ll be at the other end to where he is, but maybe he’ll come and visit me during set-pieces!"

"I’m sure Vida will be saying to his new manager that he wants to play in that game," joked Evans. "He was a great player for us and it will be nice to see him so soon.

"We've had some classic games against Inter over the years. I remember we had a tough couple of games last time we played them [in 2009], especially at the San Siro.

"They’re a historic club and giants on the European scene so that'll be a nice match to play in. I think all the pre-season games will be good tests for us."
