Zaha: Signings Will Settle Quickly
Wilfried Zaha has no doubt new signings Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw will be made to feel at home during Tour 2014, presented by Aon.
Zaha was a new boy himself this time last summer when Manchester United flew to Thailand, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong to prepare for the 2013/14 campaign. Joining the Reds could easily have been daunting for the then-20-year-old, but he insists everybody at the club made him feel welcome immediately.
“I really enjoyed the tour last year and felt I played well," Wilf told ManUtd.com. "When I arrived at the club everybody made me feel comfortable, which meant it was easy for me to feel at home when I went onto the pitch. I felt like things clicked for me.
“Feeling comfortable off the pitch really helped me on it. It’s a big part of playing at a club like this. You have to feel comfortable and confident with your team-mates. I’m sure people like Ander and Luke will be made to feel welcome and they’ll be absolutely fine.”
Zaha, who had previously only experienced pre-season tours with Crystal Palace, admits last summer's trip was a real eye-opener. “To be honest, it was crazy... the huge crowds, the organisation of it all… I’ve never experienced anything like it. You can’t know what it’s like until you’re inside the club. It was a great experience. It’s the same with playing at Old Trafford. The fans, the noise, the size of the stadium… there’s nothing like it.”
