Jones: Reds Will Stick Together

Phil Jones spoke to ManUtd.com after Saturday's goalless stalemate at Burnley.

The centre-back stresses the Barclays Premier League season is still in its infancy and insists everybody will stick together and put things right as the Reds continue to seek a first win under Louis van Gaal.

What was your assessment of the 0-0 draw?
It was a difficult game. They pressed us and played well. We could have scored in the first half but never really created any chances in the second half.

Do you think we deserved to be awarded a couple of penalties - one in each half?
Yeah but you can't rely on penalties. It is what it is.

Was it the case that there was always going to be patience needed with a new manager and a new system?
We know it is going to take time. Nobody was saying it would happen overnight but it may take longer than a lot of people want it to happen. We have just got to keep patient and keep pushing on. We've been working hard in training and we have to keep working hard. I keep saying it but we can only keep improving and we need to stick together.

Do you still feel we can finish in the top four?
It's early doors yet. It's an old cliche but we need to concentrate on the next game and that is all we can look forward to.
