Fellaini Up For The Fight

Marouane Fellaini insists Manchester United have to be firing from kick-off against Queens Park Rangers, after leaving it too late to successfully attack Southampton last weekend.

Discussing the two matches on MUTV, Fellaini said: "We created chances in the last 15 minutes [against Southampton] when we pressed the goal. Now we have to be ready from the first minute to press hard and create the chances."

Fellaini's recovery from a broken rib injury has given Louis van Gaal another option as he plots a return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon. The Dutch boss sent on his Belgian midfielder as a substitute against Southampton and the change beefed up the attack, albeit without bearing fruit this time around.

"The manager told me to get into the box for when crosses came in and to win challenges," revealed Fellaini. "I did that but we didn’t score so we were disappointed. It was hard to lose."

After missing five matches over Christmas and New Year, Marouane feels he is fit and ready for whenever the manager needs him next.

"It was good to be back, I feel better," he confirmed. "I broke my rib and was very sick, but now I’m much better and I'm training hard every day to be fit. When you do nothing for three weeks it’s difficult to come back so I have to train hard.

"We have all trained hard this week and we've looked at how QPR play. They play more direct so we have to be ready for that. But we can create chances to score so we have to go there and do it."
