Herrera Praises United's Travelling Fans
Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera praised the club's travelling fans after their vociferous support helped fire the Reds to a 3-1 FA Cup victory at Preston North End.
After conceding an early second-half goal to the Lilywhites' Scott Laird, it was United's no. 21 who kick-started the fightback, and he believes the fans were crucial in giving Louis van Gaal's men the extra push needed to get the job done.
"The support is always fantastic and it means a lot to us," Ander told MUTV. "Today here in Preston's stadium they were fantastic. They supported us at a tough moment and we are grateful for that. We won for them because after the first goal they pushed us for the victory."
The hard-fought win at Deepdake, achieved through further strikes from Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney, means the Reds will now face Arsenal in a mouth-watering quarter-final tie at Old Trafford in March, a match that Herrera cannot wait for.
"We have to keep playing in this competition [and it will be] against Arsenal who are one of the best teams at the moment," the midfielder added.
"But we are Manchester United and have a very good spirit and we showed it today. We have very good players and very good staff and we are going to improve."
