Jones' Red-hot Debut

Manchester United will return to Soldier Field in Chicago later this month to take on Paris Saint-Germain as part of Tour 2015, presented by Aon, and it's an arena that will always hold a special place in the memory of Phil Jones.

The 23-year-old signed for United in summer 2011 from Blackburn Rovers and flew out to the States to link up with his new team-mates soon after.

Jones made his unofficial Reds' bow against Chicago Fire at the famous ground and he recalls how United came from behind in sweltering conditions to claim a 3-1 win after second-half goals from Wayne Rooney, Rafael and Nani.

"I remember seeing the shirt in the dressing room – the first time you put it on is a special feeling and a special moment," Phil told ManUtd.com.

"I started the game and played 75 minutes, and the thing that stood out the most was the heat! It was the most unbearable heat I’ve ever played in, but we had to just get through it.

"It was incredible, absolutely incredible to see all the fans there," he added. "There were over 60,000 piled into the stadium just to watch a friendly game. It just goes to show how much the game has grown in the States and it is only getting bigger.”
