United Yet To Agree on RVP Fee

Manchester United are yet to agree a fee with Fenerbahce for the transfer of striker Robin van Persie.

The Dutchman was unveiled as a Fenerbahce player at a presentation ceremony at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul on Tuesday after agreeing a three-year contract.

But a fee has yet to be signed off between both clubs after van Persie signed a deal worth at least £3.4m a year (€4.9m) in wages, excluding bonuses.

It is understood Manchester United do not expect to receive a sizeable fee for van Persie.

United are understood to be intensifying their efforts to find a replacement for the Netherlands international, with the Daily Express linking them with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

Robert Lewandowski is another player linked with the club in the media but the Poland international's agent insists it would cost at least £35m to prise the striker away from Bayern Munich.

Skipper Wayne Rooney is currently the only fit senior striker that manager Louis van Gaal has at his disposal for the pre-season tour of the United States.

United begin with a game against Mexican team Club America in Seattle on Friday before flying to San Jose, where they will play San Jose Earthquakes and Barcelona.

The two-and-a-half week tour ends with a match in Chicago against Paris St Germain.
