David de Gea Saga Not Helpful For Both Man. United Or Real Madrid
Terry Gibson believes that the David de Gea situation is a "mess" for both Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The Spain international has again been left out of the United squad, this time for their vital Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge, although United boss Louis van Gaal says he will not be sold.
Speaking on the latest La Liga Podcast, Gibson hinted that neither United nor Real are benefitting from dragging out the transfer saga further.
"How much of a mess has that become, from both parties," Gibson said.
"Is it worth the aggro over the money? Clearly not.
"In Real Madrid's case, they have signed Kiko Casilla, who was an international goalkeeper last season, who cost 6m euros, and could end up being third choice.
"Manchester United are not even playing David de Gea. I don't think it is going to happen this window.
"Benzema isn't going to leave, Neymar isn't going to leave Barcelona. If the right player becomes available, if a big name player is available, Real Madrid will be in for him. I don't know what position but that's just Real Madrid isn't it."
