David de Gea Focused On Manchester United Future
David de Gea says he has moved on from the collapse of his transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid.
The clubs reached an agreement for the goalkeeper's transfer on Spain's transfer deadline day only for the deal to fall though after the necessary paperwork was not submitted in time.
At the time, United and Real blamed each other for the delay but De Gea - who has since signed a new contract with United - says he has put what happened behind him.
"I am a guy who likes to put the bad things and difficult moments behind me," De Gea told Canal Plus.
"I had a lot of tough times and I know what it is. You have to move forward and keep working just as hard.
"It is a learning process that football gives you, tough moments that make you mature and grow. They are the things you learn from the world of football. You have to keep working and try to improve in every training session."
Louis van Gaal dropped De Gea while his United future was in doubt but he has since been restored to the first team and insists the episode did not damage his relationship with the rest of the squad.
"I have always had the confidence of my team-mates and workers at Manchester United," he said.
"Everyone who works for Manchester respected me, they tried to help me and I am very grateful to them."
