Martial Follows In Famous Footsteps

Anthony Martial became the eighth teenager to score for Manchester United in Europe's premier competition when heading the equaliser at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

The French forward joins some of the club's biggest-ever names on the list as he continues to enjoy a remarkable introduction to life at Old Trafford. The recent recruit is the fourth player under 20 to net for the club in the new format, while four others scored in the European Cup.

Brian Kidd, who will be in the opposing dugout for Sunday's Manchester derby as part of City's backroom staff, remains United's youngest scorer in the competition following his strike against Gornik Zabrze in February 1968. The striker would head home later that year on his 19th birthday in the final against Benfica at Wembley.
