McNair Out For 2 Weeks
Manchester United defender Paddy McNair is to leave hospital in Helsinki later on Wednesday and return home, according to Sky sources.
But it is understood the 20-year-old will be out of action for Manchester United for at least two weeks.
McNair suffered an abdominal injury in the 13th minute of Norther Ireland's 1-1 draw against Finland on Sunday, but played on until the 51st minute before being substituted.
It was feared he may have ruptured his liver, but we understand that he has been given the all-clear in that regard and his injuries have been limited to severe bruising around the organs near his ribs.
McNair has been kept in hospital as a precaution for three days to monitor his progress and we understand he should be free of any long term problems.
McNair has made just one substitute appearance for Manchester United so far this season, coming on in the 69th minute in the 3-2 win at Southampton on September 20.
But he has featured in Northern Ireland's last three games as they sealed qualification to next summer's European Championships in France.
