United's 14 Debutants So Far In 2015/16

Tim Fosu-Mensah and James Weir became Manchester United’s 13th and 14th debutants respectively this season in Sunday’s victory over Arsenal.

Fosu-Mensah, 18, replaced the injured Marcos Rojo early in the second half at Old Trafford, while 21-year-old Weir came on for Ander Herrera in the final throes of the 3-2 triumph.

The duo followed hot on the heels of Marcus Rashford and Regan Poole, who made their bows three days earlier in the Europa League defeat of FC Midtjylland, and Joe Riley, whose first taste of senior football came in the Emirates FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town last Monday.

Fosu-Mensah told ManUtd.com after the game: "I’m very happy – I just feel overwhelmed at the moment. It was a big day for me but I have to keep working hard.

"It was really surreal. The players around me really helped but the most important thing is that the team played well and we did; we worked hard together. Arsenal are a big team, so we’re delighted to win. It was a great performance."

Rashford has enjoyed an incredible start in the first team, with two goals in each of his first two games.

"I’m so happy for him," Fosu-Mensah added. "He’s a very good friend of mine and it makes me happy every time he scores.

"Everyone works really hard at this club. It’s great that young players are getting a chance; everyone knows the opportunities are there, so we’re all working hard to take them."
