United Farewells To Premier League Grounds

As Manchester United head to West Ham's Upton Park for the last time, we're recalling the Reds' other final visits to Premier League grounds which are now consigned to football history.

The stand-out highlight was the 6-0 thumping of Bolton Wanderers at Burnden Park, en route to the Double 20 years ago, as Paul Scholes came off the bench to score twice inside three minutes. David Beckham, Steve Bruce, Andy Cole and Nicky Butt also found the net in a one-sided encounter.

United also secured victories in final visits to Filbert Street, the former home of newly-crowned league champions Leicester City, thanks to an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strike and Highfield Road, Coventry City's old haunt, with Cole and Beckham on the scoresheet.

A last journey to Highbury ended in a goalless stalemate against Arsenal in 2006 and draws were also recorded at Derby County's Baseball Ground, due to Beckham netting once again, and newly-promoted Middlesbrough's Ayresome Park where Bruce converted a penalty.

There are less favourable memories of the last trips to Maine Road, The Dell and Roker Park where United lost to Manchester City, Southampton and Sunderland respectively.

United's farewells to former Premier League grounds:
Ayresome Park - 1-1 v Middlesbrough, 3/10/92
Baseball Ground - 1-1 v Derby County, 4/9/96
Burnden Park - 6-0 v Bolton Wanderers, 25/2/96
The Dell - 1-2 v Southampton, 13/5/01
Filbert Street - 1-0 v Leicester City, 6/4/02
Highbury - 0-0 v Arsenal, 3/1/06
Highfield Road - 2-1 v Coventry, 4/11/00
Maine Road - 1-3 v Manchester City, 9/11/02
Roker Park - 1-2 v Sunderland, 8/3/97
