Zlatan: When I Lose, I Learn
Zlatan Ibrahimovic says winning is all he is focused on but he admits disappointments, perhaps like last weekend's Manchester derby defeat, can be used as lessons, even for a player as experienced as him.
The 34-year-old striker spoke candidly about his mentality and aims as a player while also discussing working with Jose Mourinho and the comparisons with Eric Cantona.
On linking up once more with Mourinho following their time together at Internazionale, Ibrahimovic said: "I know what he wants, I know his demands. He's a winner and I see myself as a winner also; I do anything to win. And we won. He won when he was younger and I won when I was younger and we will win when we are a little bit older. Not old, but a little bit older!" he joked.
"He is direct with everyone. He is not someone who goes behind your back. I prefer that instead of someone who doesn't say anything to you. He does what he needs to do to win. Just like me as a player. I don't accept to lose. When I lose, I learn and I will not lose, I will win."
When, asked if he is flattered by the talk of him having a similar impact at United to Cantona, he declares: "Every player makes his own story. To compare another story would not be fair.
"For me, though, the talk about me and his story I take as a compliment. He did a fantastic story and it will remain in the history books and the supporters' hearts probably forever. So I take it as a compliment."
