Mourinho Reacts To Stoke City Draw
Jose Mourinho gave his response to the 1-1 draw against Stoke in interviews with MUTV and BT Sport...
BEST PERFORMANCE YET
"It's simple - the best Manchester United performance of the season. It could have been 3-0 or 4-0 at half-time and six or seven at the end of the game. I can't believe the result is 1-1. It was very undeserved. I repeat - it was a much better performance than against Leicester because the result made more than the performance and today was exactly the opposite."
CHANCES SPURNED
"In the first half, minute one, an amazing chance with amazing football, then a few minutes later another one with Paul Pogba facing the keeper. We had three or four in the first half, we had three or four in the second half. We hit the bar. We did everything. We played good football. We touched the ball, we moved, we created so much. It was a really good performance, a performance to win by a comfortable score and, in the end, we lose two points."
GREAT GRANT
"In the first minute, the goalkeeper makes an incredible save. He did it the whole game. We had chances in both halves. A fair argument can not be different than mine."
FAILURE TO KILL STOKE OFF
"The danger is there but we had chances to score the second goal. If we score and then we give them the ball, and then we go to our box and we come a little bit, we are gambling. We were not gambling. We were just going to kill the game, which we felt we could, and we should. They were very lucky, we were very unlucky, and that's football."
15-DAY WAIT UNTIL LIVERPOOL
"It's frustrating because the result is not good, it's frustrating because we don't have a game in three or four days to play again, it's frustrating because we don't have the players to work with, but that's football and I think everybody is frustrated but we have to be happy with the quality of our performance. I think the fans are disappointed with the result but the reaction also shows that it was an afternoon where they know we did everything."
