Wenger Wary Of Threat Posed By Rashford

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Marcus Rashford could pose the biggest threat to his side when they face Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

The England international burst onto the scene in February, scoring twice on his debut in the 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland in the Europa League before bagging another brace in the subsequent 3-2 victory over the Gunners.

Little may have been known about Rashford at the time but Wenger will hope to be better prepared at Old Trafford this weekend.

The Frenchman also dismissed the suggestion their opponents will lack an attacking threat in the absence of the suspended Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Wayne Rooney expected to only be fit enough to start on the bench.

Certainly they would prefer to have him [Ibrahimovic]," said Wenger, as his side attempt to claim their first win at Old Trafford in a decade.

"But we have as well players out and let's not forget, last year the guy who killed us was Rashford. So let's not speculate on any weakness of Man United."

Wenger, who goes in search of his first-ever Premier League win over Mourinho having failed to outsmart his adversary in 11 previous meetings, admits Rashford's impact last season was unexpected.

"Yes of course," he replied when asked if they had been taken by surprise.

"Maybe a bit less, because I watched him against a Danish team in midweek and he scored and I could see straight away that this guy could be dangerous.

"On crosses his movement was good, the way he moved in the box was strong. He took everyone by surprise because no one knew him in England."
