Mata Wins MUDSA Award
Old Trafford’s Manchester Suite was buzzing on Tuesday, December 20th as it played host to the most exciting day in the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association (MUDSA) calendar — the Christmas Party!
A fantastic time was had by all and as usual, almost all the first team players came along to meet 55 disabled fans and their guests including injured soldiers from Headley Court Rehabilitation Complex, have their photos taken, and sign everybody’s goodies!
MUDSA members voted for Juan Mata as their Player of the Year because of his outstanding and consistent performances that have helped him become one of United’s most influential players this season.
Chas Banks, MUDSA Secretary said: “This year’s party has been particularly special because the players all came and did the rounds — chatting, posing for photo and signing souvenirs, even though they were under time pressure. They’ve have never let us down in the 28 years that they’ve been coming to the MUDSA Christmas party.
“Club Captain Wayne Rooney made the traditional Captain’s speech and it was a great pleasure to see Juan Mata presented with the MUDSA player of the year trophy”.
The presentation was made by Ann-Marie Lewis (MUDSA event organiser) Lee Davis and Ben Carney.
MUDSA would like to thank all the players who attended the Christmas Party, a tradition which is now in its 27th year and is the most popular event in the MUDSA calendar.
MUDSA is the world’s oldest disabled supporters’ association, run by disabled fans, for disabled fans, with more than 1,700 members across the world.
