Team News For 2nd Leg

Jose Mourinho will field a "strong" Manchester United team in next week’s Europa League Round of 32 second leg at Saint-Etienne, resisting the temptation to rest several key players.

The Reds are braced to visit eastern France with a commanding 3-0 advantage from Thursday night's first leg at Old Trafford, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic claimed his first-ever hat-trick for the club.

Ander Herrera is one player who will definitely miss the return fixture, however, after the Spaniard received a third yellow card in this season’s competition to earn an automatic one-match ban.

At his post-match press conference, Mourinho told reporters he will not make wholesale changes at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, saying: “Herrera is suspended, so it is a good rest for him. He has been playing every match.

“But, you know, I always respect football and I know that football can be nasty with you. I don’t want my team to be punished so I will go with a strong team.”

Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney all missed the first-leg victory over Les Verts at the Theatre of Dreams, although Mourinho has already claimed the trio do not have serious problems. Henrikh Mkhitaryan sat out the match due to illness.
