Rashford And Fosu-Mensah Up For Award
Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Tim Fosu-Mensah have been nominated for this year's Golden Boy award.
The accolade was established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003 and recognises the achievements of footballers under the age of 21 playing in a European top tier, with journalists from 30 major newspapers across the continent casting their votes to decide the winner.
Three members of the current first-team squad are among the former recipients of the prize. Reds captain Wayne Rooney scooped the award at the end of his extraordinary breakthrough season at Old Trafford in 2004, while Paul Pogba saw off the competition while with Juventus in 2013, a year after his first spell at United came to an end.
After an impressive start to life at the club, Anthony Martial was named Europe's best young player in 2015, ahead of Luke Shaw and Adnan Januzaj, while Rashford was also among the nominees last year, finishing as runner-up to Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches in October.
Rashford and Fosu-Mensah face competition from Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Everton midfielder Tom Davies, as well as the likes of Monaco's Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele.
