Zlatan Raring To Go
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is champing at the bit to play alongside his Manchester United team-mates tonight after being forced to watch from the sidelines for most of the last month.
After serving a three-match domestic ban, the striker is now free to play again and is expected to lead the line against Everton on Tuesday evening in another important Premier League fixture.
Ibrahimovic is looking forward to being back on the pitch, admitting it's always tough to follow the action from the stands.
"I’m better at it than I used to be," he told MUTV in an exclusive interview. "Before I was more emotional and deep into my feelings, now it’s more that I look at the game and I have trust in my team-mates, I have confidence in them.
"It’s part of the game, you can’t always play. Sometimes you are out for injuries or suspensions like in my case or for other reasons. You learn from everything.
"I feel good," he added. "I missed Old Trafford and the games with my team, but finally I am back and hopefully I come back with positive vibes."
Despite a frustrating draw at home to West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, the Reds remain very much in the mix for an all-important top-four place and Ibrahimovic remains confident in United's chances of fulfilling that aim.
"One game can change a lot – suddenly you can be third, fourth, fifth, sixth," he said. "First is too far away, second probably also. But otherwise it’s very tight and if you succeed in winning two or three games in a row then you’re in the Champions League spots."
United go into the Everton clash six points behind third-placed Liverpool but two games in hand would enable Ibrahimovic and his colleagues to make up that ground.
"I think we will make it and we will be there. We have gained the points we need to be in the Champions League, though we are on the limit now. A little bit more and we will reach the top four I believe."
