Legends Split On United's Key Man

ManUtd.com spoke to three Manchester United legends at their hotel in Stockholm in advance of the UEFA Europa League final with Ajax.

Each ex-Red was interviewed by MUTV about the context of a game being played in the aftermath of the tragic events in Manchester, with everybody in the camp clearly affected by the shocking incident.

Afterwards, we caught up with the legends to ask which player they feel will be the key man for United this evening and capable of making a difference on the field.

Jesper Blomqvist:
"I think Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been outstanding in the Europa League. He's been really showing his qualities there. I think it is a little bit of a different game compared to the Premier League. It's just different and it suits him better. I think he will be a very important player and, of course, there's Marcus Rashford but he will be very closely marked. Another difference is they have a lot speed at Ajax and maybe he won't have as big an advantage as he has on some of the central defenders in the Premier League."

Denis Irwin:
"I think Marcus Rashford is in great form. We haven't scored that many goals in the last two months, probably since Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] got injured so Marcus is a big player for us. He's come on unbelievably well this year. He burst on the scene last season, the second season is always harder but I think he's handled things really well and hopefully he'll be the big threat for us tonight."

Bryan Robson:
"I think this is Paul Pogba's moment. I think in certain games this season he’s had a big influence on the team and I hope he can do the same tonight. It’s a European final and this is his stage. He loves to take the ball, he has good qualities on the ball. He can see a pass, open up defences and he can score a goal. If he’s on top form, he’ll help United win."
