Manchester United To Receive Just 10,000 tickets For The Europa League Final

Manchester United fans will get just 10,000 tickets for the Europa League final in Sweden.

United - who have 55,000 ticket holders - have already revealed they will not be running a trip to Stockholm for their 800 staff to ensure as many fans as possible can attend the final at the 50,000-capacity Friends Arena on May 24.

The club contacted fans earlier this week to warn them tickets would only be available to season ticket holders who have been to every home cup game this season and those who have applied for a European away game in the last two years.

United's opponents, Ajax, will receive the same number of tickets for the match with 17,000 on general sale via a ballot to neutral supporters and a further 11,000 going to the organising committee, national associations, commercial partners, broadcasters & corporate hospitality.

Last year's final venue in Basel, Switzerland, had a capacity of 35,000, with finalists Sevilla and Liverpool each being allocated just over 10,000 tickets.

Jose Mourinho's side edged through to the final with a nervy 2-1 aggregate victory over Celta Vigo on Thursday.

The winners of the competition will go into the draw for the group stages of next season's Champions League.
