Pre-vigo Boost For United

Manchester United worked out at the Aon Training Complex on Wednesday morning ahead of an afternoon flight to Spain for the Europa League semi-final first leg with Celta Vigo, and the news looks positive for Reds fans.

Centre-backs Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, who have been absent since picking up injuries while on international duty with England, took part in the session - as did Eric Bailly, despite limping off during the 1-1 draw with Swansea City on Sunday.

Paul Pogba was also present and could return on Thursday, as predicted by manager Jose Mourinho, after missing the last two games since being hurt in the latter stages of the win at Burnley.

Marouane Fellaini is definitely available as his ban covers only domestic matches, while youngsters Scott McTominay and Matty Willock were also part of a 23-man squad put through its paces in front of the watching media - although there is no confirmation of the actual travelling party.

Training squad: De Gea, Romero, Pereira; Bailly, Blind, Darmian, Jones, Smalling, Tuanzebe, Valencia, Young; Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Lingard, Mata, McTominay, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Willock; Martial, Rashford, Rooney.
