De Gea On His Superb Save At Stoke

Spain international goalkeeper David De Gea has spoken out about the fantastic save he made in Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.

United were 2-1 up when De Gea made the superb reflex save on the hour mark, as Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku both netted after Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's opener for the hosts.

The stop came as he denied fellow countryman Jese Rodriguez from point-blank range, by sticking out a strong right-arm to deflect the Stoke no.11's effort out for a corner.

However, unfortunately for De Gea and his team-mates, Choupo-Moting was able to ghost in and head home an equaliser from the resulting corner.

Ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League clash with FC Basel, United's no.1 spoke to MUTV about that incredible stop.

"I don't know," he replied. "I've made some good saves over the whole of my career, and that one was a really good one.

"It was unlucky that after the save they scored a goal [from resulting the corner], but it was a really good save."

"Yeah, after the game I did speak about it with Jese, and he said: 'How did you make that save?' It was a good
moment for me. There was no time to think, I just reacted and tried to put a strong hand on it, and
keep it out of the goal."
