Lingard Has Big Expectations Of Rashford

Jesse Lingard believes individual honours will come Marcus Rashford's way as the two Manchester United pals prepare for a special night with England at Wembley.

The opportunity to compete against Brazil does not come around very often and the two homegrown Reds will be eagerly anticipating the chance to be involved for Gareth Southgate's side in the country's final international of the year.

Lingard spoke exclusively to the new edition of club magazine Inside United - which came out today [Tuesday] - about a variety of topics and found it difficult to hide his admiration for his colleague, who turned 20 recently.

"I think the individual awards will come if he keeps carrying on what he’s doing," said Lingard. "He’s scoring, he’s assisting, he’s in the team, which is where he wants to be, so the accolades will come for him I’m sure.

"His development has been huge. When we first saw him come on the scene, he was a little, skinny kid! He’s gained a lot of maturity, he’s filled out and he’s stronger and faster.

"I think you have to look at his shooting accuracy, his technique, the goals he’s scored, his assists – he’s become an all-round player. If he can keep developing like that and learning from all the experiences he has, there is no doubt he can become a top, top player."
