United Quartet Up For UEFA Team Of The Year

Manchester United have four players on the 50-strong shortlist for the UEFA Team of the Year.

David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all been nominated for their performances in 2017 in European competition for the Reds and internationals for their countries. Pogba has already won the Europa League Player of the Season prize following the club's success in the tournament last term.

Mkhitaryan has been particularly effective in Europe since arriving from Borussia Dortmund while Valencia has been a model of consistency at right-back and taken on the captaincy. As for De Gea, this could be a chance to earn the recognition he surely deserves as arguably the best keeper on the planet.

The team is selected via a poll on UEFA's official website, allowing fans to choose their own XI based on overall performances in European club football and international competitions.
