Zlatan Will Bring Out The Best In Lukaku

Andy Cole believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic's return from injury will bring out the best in fellow striker Romelu Lukaku.

Zlatan came on as a substitute during the 4-1 win over Newcastle United, after Lukaku had smashed home the final goal to end a mini-drought at club level.

Having world-class strikers at his disposal will be a huge benefit for Jose Mourinho, who has already explained how he could partner Ibrahimovic and Lukaku in attack. And Cole, who bagged 121 goals for the Reds during a trophy-laden spell at Old Trafford, reckons the Belgian will thrive by working closely alongside the Swedish star.

"I’m excited," said Cole at the #ILOVEUNITED event in New York. "I was fortunate to be in that position at United, having other players after your place and that competition brings the best out of you.

"I have no doubts it will bring the best out of Lukaku. He expected Zlatan to get fit at some stage. He started the season very well. He has found it difficult in a few games because the team didn’t create a lot of chances, and the team didn’t played as well as it could have, but I think he will be okay. I definitely think Zlatan will bring the best out of him."
