Rojo Wants Reds To Impose Themselves

Marcos Rojo believes the Manchester United players must impose themselves from the start of tonight's Carabao Cup quarter-final at Bristol City.

Jose Mourinho's reigning champions will travel to Ashton Gate Stadium for the last-eight clash, against a side that is currently third in the Championship.

Rojo, who is now fit again after suffering a nasty head injury in the Manchester derby, insists the Reds are focused on starting well against Bristol and ultimately keeping a firm grip on the Carabao Cup trophy.

"I think it is important, even though we are away from home, that we go there really positive and try to take the game to them, impose ourselves on the game and try to dominate proceedings from the word go," Marcos told MUTV. "Hopefully, by imposing our style, we can come away with a victory that we need.

"People talk about this trophy saying it is not important but, when you have had the experience of getting a long way in the competition and eventually winning it, everyone wants to do it again."

The Argentina international made his 100th United appearance during last Sunday's win at West Bromwich Albion and has called it a "proper proud moment".

Following his long injury lay-off earlier in the year, he's delighted to be back back on the pitch. "All you want to do as a player is to work hard so you can be in the squad and in the team to help your team-mates to help us to compete. It’s really tough when you are out for a long time, so it’s great to be back."
