United And MUDSA Support Level Playing Field
Manchester United and MUDSA (Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association) have pledged their support to the Level Playing Field (LPF) campaign and its annual ‘Weeks of Action’ campaign.
The initiative, now in its 13th year, aims to celebrate access and inclusion for disabled sports fans across England and Wales, and is this year focusing on the campaign, ‘Our Matchday’; highlighting the positives of attending football matches and promoting a culture of accessibility and inclusivity within the game.
Manchester United’s #allredallequal campaign encompasses the club’s work within equality, diversity and inclusion. The club has engaged in many equality and inclusion programmes, campaigns and initiatives over a number of years and #allredallequal links all those efforts from Manchester United and its staff, players and supporters. The club will continue to work closely with organisations such as Level Playing Field, MUDSA, Stonewall and Kick It Out as the club strives to be at the forefront of equality.
As part of this, the club looks to ensure a safe, welcoming and open environment to all supporters at Old Trafford, ensuring that Old Trafford is a home for all reds regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion, sex and sexual orientation.
Chas Banks, MUDSA Secretary said, "It’s wonderful to see how much Level Playing Field has grown and developed. Manchester United have always been incredibly supportive of its disabled supporters and that applies even more as accessible facilities are expanded. The key to success is always the Disabled Supporters Association and the club working together to constantly improve the match day experience for disabled supporters. That has always happened here at United and always will."
MUDSA are full members of Level Playing Field, and have generously contributed a sum of money again this year to help fund the costs of the Weeks of Action promotional materials, such as the banner being displayed proudly on the wheelchair platform today, as well as wrist bands, t-shirts and flags.
