FA apologises to Tottenham and Man Utd over tweet mocking Harry Kane
The FA has written to Tottenham and Manchester United apologising for any offence over a tweet sent after the FA Cup semi-final between the teams.
A message on the Emirates FA Cup feed showed United defender Chris Smalling replying "Harry Kane" to a mocked-up question which read "Chris, what's in your pocket?"
The tweet came in the moments after Smalling's United had come from 1-0 down to beat Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley and secure a date with Chelsea in the FA Cup final next month.
It was retweeted by thousands of Twitter users and was only removed from the feed on Monday morning.
Kane had been put in the social media spotlight for the second time this month, having previously been the butt of jokes over claiming a goal that was initially credited to Christian Eriksen during their clash with Stoke City.
