Granqvist 'flattered' by reports of Man Utd interest
Sweden international centre-back Andreas Granqvist has described reported interest from Manchester United as "incredibly flattering".
Reports in Sweden claim United are keen on signing Grankvist on loan deal in January - similar to the one they sanctioned for his compatriot Henrik Larsson in 2007 - as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his defensive options.
Mourinho was frustrated by United's failure to sign a centre-back in the summer and appears to be dissatisfied with the current crop - opting to play midfielder Scott McTominay over Eric Bailly at the back in Saturday's defeat at West Ham.
Asked about interest from Old Trafford, Granqvist told FotbollDireckt: "I know that there is a lot of interest for me. United is incredibly flattering but I have not heard anything concrete yet."
Grankvist, 33, played a starring role for Sweden in the summer's World Cup in Russia as they progressed to the quarter-finals to achieve their best performance at the tournament since 1994.
The defender returned to Helsingborgs, the club which gave him his professional debut, at the end of last season after a five-year spell with Russian side Krasnodar.
Granqvist has experience playing in England - he spent two seasons playing for Wigan before moving to Dutch side Groningen.
