United through to Europa League last 32

Manchester United have qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League after a 3-0 victory over Partizan Belgrade at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Goals from Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford gave United a comfortable win in the pouring rain to secure qualification from Group L.

The Reds currently sit top of the group on 10 points, two points above of AZ Alkmaar in second.

With two games to play, we are six clear of Partizan, who cannot now overtake us due to our superior head-to-head record. Our next opponents, Astana, are bottom, having failed to pick up a point thus far.

The last time United qualified for the knockout stages of this competition, we went on to claim victory in the final, against Ajax in Stockholm in 2017.

The Reds have won three of our four games in continental competition this season, drawing the other, to stretch our unbeaten run in the Europa League to 15 games.

United now have two games remaining, against Astana and AZ Alkmaar, to determine whether we finish in first, and are seeded for the draw for the last 32, or second place.

Four other teams have already secured qualification to the next round, with Sevilla, Celtic, FC Basel and Espanyol all in the hat for the draw, which will take place on Monday 16 December at 12:00 GMT in the city of Nyon, Switzerland.

The first and second leg of the round of 32 is scheduled to be played on 20 and 27 February respectively.
