WAN-BISSAKA REVEALS HIS TOP OPPONENT AT UNITED

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s tough-tackling performances have shown he has no fear of any player or occasion. Yet there is one Manchester United team-mate who is causing him problems in training.

In his latest diary entry, published in full on Tuesday, our popular England international is happy to admit that Marcus Rashford is the toughest opponent he's faced so far at the Aon Training Complex.

The right-back is constantly working hard to improve his game and there is arguably no better practice than facing our flourishing no.10, Rashford, who loves to cause mayhem off that left wing.

Defending against such raw speed and unpredictability is a challenge, which Wan-Bissaka described in detail when answering a question that was submitted to him by Twitter user @thereddevil1012.

“I’d say Marcus, yeah,” wrote Aaron, when asked to name his most difficult adversary in training. “He’s just so unpredictable. When I first joined United and came up against him in training, he was doing things that I just really didn’t expect.

“I thought he’d go a certain way and he’d go the other way, or I thought he was about to do one thing and he did another, so he’s really tricky to play against.

“I enjoy that though; it’s been really good for my own development to test myself against him and the other attackers we have at the club.”

Wan-Bissaka's praise for Rashford comes a week after he identified Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling as the most challenging player he has faced in competitive football so far this season.

When quizzed on the subject by Twitter user @iam_danstix, Aaron was full of praise for the England forward and explained exactly why he enjoys facing him so much.

“I’d say Raheem Sterling – those are the battles I’ve enjoyed the most,” revealed Aaron in his second weekly blog. “He keeps going, just keeps on coming at you. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t get past you in one challenge, he keeps coming back for more every time. That’s what I like.

“I’ve been happy with my performances in both league derbies and the results both times were just what we needed. The second one was just before lockdown, and that was an incredible afternoon. We were prepared for that game and we showed that as a team on the pitch. When Scott scored the second goal, the whole stadium just went off and you could see what it meant to everyone.”
