UNITED KEEP HEAT ON IN BATTLE FOR TOP FOUR

The race to break into the Premier League top four and gatecrash the Champions League positions remains tight after Manchester United, Wolves and Spurs all won in the second round of matches since Project Restart.

The Reds stormed to an impressive 3-0 win against Sheffield United to keep us in fifth position in the table as football returned to Old Trafford.

United and Spurs had drawn 1-1 on Friday in North London. While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were damaging the Blades' bid to be in the fight for the top bracket, Wolves were beating Bournemouth 1-0 at Molineux to remain in sixth place.

United are Wolves are locked together on 49 points with seven matches to go but the Reds have a better goal difference.

On Tuesday night Spurs got back to winning ways themselves after the draw with United when they beat West Ham 2-0 but they are lagging four points behind the Reds and the Midlanders.

Our thumping win against Sheffield United, plus Wolves’ three points, moved us both to within two points of Chelsea who currently occupy the fourth Euro spot ahead of their match with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge (Thursday).

Meanwhile, Leicester City in third place have yet to win in their two matches back having drawn against Watford and Brighton, dropping four points as the battle heats up.
