HAVE YOU SEEN THESE AMAZING STATS FROM VILLA PARK?
Manchester United's brilliant post-restart run continued on Thursday night, as we swatted aside relegation-threatened Aston Villa in the West Midlands.
It was our fourth consecutive top-flight win, and we're now 17 matches unbeaten in all competitions.
There were some brilliant statistics doing the rounds on social media last night, and we've rounded up some of the very best, starting with this absolute zinger:
A PREMIER LEAGUE FIRST
The Reds became the first side in Premier League history to win four games in a row by a margin of three or more goals. We beat Sheffield United, Brighton and Villa by the same 3-0 scoreline, with Saturday’s 5-2 win over Bournemouth also coming in the midst of our recent purple patch. Considering some of the United sides who've played in the top flight since 1992, including Sir Alex Ferguson's best vintages, that's quite a feat!
TON UP FOR UNITED
The Reds reached 100 goals in all competitions for the season with Paul Pogba’s second-half strike. Only Manchester City (130) and Liverpool (107) have managed more in 2019/20.
PENALTY KINGS
United have been awarded 13 penalties in the Premier League in 2019/20 – no team has earned more in a single campaign in the competition. Bruno's successful conversion means we've tucked away 10 of those spot-kicks.
BRILLIANT BRUNO
Fernandes continues to rack up the records in the red shirt. Since the Portuguese made his debut for the club in February, no Premier League player has scored (seven) or assisted (six) more goals in the competition. His seven strikes are the most any midfielder has managed in their first 10 Premier League appearances, and no-one has conjured more assists in that period of time, with Bruno now level with the likes of Arjen Robben, Mesut Ozil and David Ginola in that regard.
GREENWOOD’S HOT STREAK
Mason Greenwood is the first player aged 18 or younger to score in three consecutive Premier League appearances since 1999. In addition, no top-flight player this season can beat his four goals from outside the box.
DE GEA’S RECORD
David De Gea has now surpassed Peter Schmeichel and become United’s leading appearance-maker from outside the UK and Ireland. With 399 games now under his belt, only one goalkeeper has featured more for the Reds - Alex Stepney on 539.
OUR HOME FROM HOME
United have extended a record: it’s now 21 games at Villa Park in the league without defeat. No top-flight team has ever gone longer without losing a game at a single away venue!
HAPPY DAYS
The Reds have now beaten the Villans in the Premier League on every single day of the week. Manchester United versus Aston Villa, or vice versa, is the sixth fixture to have been played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday since the top flight was rebranded in 1992.
