REVEALED: OUR POTENTIAL CARABAO CUP OPPONENTS

Manchester United will kick off our 2020/21 Carabao Cup campaign with a third-round tie against Reading or Luton Town later this month.

The game will take place behind closed doors at the Madejski Stadium or Kenilworth Road in the week commencing Monday 21 September.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will know our exact opponents after the Reading v Luton second-round fixture, which is scheduled for the week commencing Monday 14 September.

Reading are familiar opponents for the Reds, with the sides having met three times in the FA Cup since 2013.

However, we haven't faced Luton in any competition since the Hatters were relegated from the top flight in 1992.

United have won the competition on five separate occasions, with the last of those coming in 2017, when we beat Southampton 3-2 in the final at Wembley.

Last season, the Reds made it to the semi-finals, losing 3-2 on aggregate to eventual winners Manchester City.
