FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

United will be on very familiar ground when they embark on this season's FA Cup campaign.

The Reds have been drawn away to Aston Villa in the third round - incredibly it's the fourth time in seven years that the clubs have been paired together at this last-64 stage of the competition. United have won the last three ties, including last term's win at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side also won 2-1 at Villa Park in January 2004 - the last year United won the FA Cup - and 3-2 at the same ground in January 2002.

Villa were also vanquished in United's FA Cup-winning years of 1948, 1963 and 1977. The Villans' only victory over United in the competition since the war was in the 1957 final at Wembley.

Selected FA Cup 3rd Round Draw:

Bolton v Sheffield United
Blackburn v Coventry
Luton/Nottingham Forest v Liverpool
Aston Villa v Manchester United
Tottenham v Reading
Burnley v Arsenal
Bristol City v Middlesbrough
Fulham v Bristol Rovers
Huddersfield v Birmingham
Sunderland v Wigan
Everton v Oldham
Derby v Sheffield Wednesday
West Ham v Manchester City
Ipswich v Portsmouth
Chelsea v QPR
Stoke v Newcastle

Ties are to be played on the weekend of 5 and 6 January, 2008
