Gill Backs Loan Policy

Chief executive David Gill has backed Manchester United to make good use of the loan system again next season.

The Reds welcomed Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck back into the fold after successful spells away from the club and, last season, a number of players were farmed out to other teams including Robbie Brady, who spent the entire campaign with Hull City.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already suggested many of the successful Reserves team will be loaned out to further their experience before the 2012/2013 term kicks off and it is a policy that should benefit the youngsters.

"It's always been a feature," Gill told ManUtd.com, when asked about the prospect of loaning players out. "We've done that for many years.

"Alex and the coaching staff will work closely to try and place players in the right teams for their development. We have seen that with people like Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley who have done very well and come back in after spells with other teams.

"Let's see what happens but it's good for them and good for us."
