Pre-season Aim For Fletcher
Darren Fletcher is continuing with his recovery from ulcerative collitis and his manager hopes he will be fit enough to take part in pre-season training in the summer.
The midfielder announced in December that he was taking an "extended break" from the game following medical advice.
While he has helped out Warren Joyce on the coaching side of things for the Reserves, Fletch has primarily been focused on his recovery with Sir Alex revealing on Friday that, contrary to media reports that he may have to retire, the Scotland captain is in fact working hard on getting back to full fitness.
"We’re hoping he’ll start pre-season training," the boss told reporters. "He’s on the recovery road at the moment and is doing some work.
"We can’t assess it [yet] because we don’t know enough about it, but Darren’s medical people are dealing with that and our doctor has a good idea of the situation.
"At the moment the boy is doing his best to come back."
