Januzaj Voted Star Man

Adnan Januzaj has been voted United's Reserve Team Player of the Year for 2013.

The 18-year-old has emerged as a key figure for Warren Joyce's side since the turn of the year and has made an impressive step up in age group as he continues to learn his trade.

After appearing for the first team in last year's pre-season friendly at Aberdeen, Januzaj has become a more rounded footballer, retaining his flair and creative skills but adding tenacity and work ethic to his game under the tutelage of Warren Joyce.

The Brussels-born youngster produced another excellent display in the Under-21s' semi-final victory against Liverpool at Old Trafford this week and has earned praise from both Sir Alex Ferguson and Joyce for his progress.

"It's always a great feeling to be Player of the Year," he said. "I've been working hard and just want to thank all the players, fans and staff. It's been a great season.

"It's hard when you're injured as you want to show everyone what you can do. I couldn't last year so I've done it this year and I'm really proud to be the Player of the Year."

Januzaj polled over half of the fans' vote to win the Denzil Haroun trophy with Marnick Vermijl in second place and captain Tom Thorpe finishing third.
