Moyes' Boys: Goalkeepers

David Moyes takes over as Manchester United manager on 1 July and inherits a powerful squad with plenty of cover in all positions.

As the Reds begin preparing for the defence of the Barclays Premier League title, we are taking a close look at the players currently at the new boss' disposal.

GOALKEEPERS

David De Gea: Most United fans recognised long ago his tremendous ability (never mind limitless potential) and, last season, the rest of the league caught up and the Spaniard received the praise of the pundits and a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

Anders Lindegaard: Still steadfastly set on becoming no.1, he had to play second fiddle with De Gea in such great form. It's easy to underestimate the security he provided and the Dane was rewarded with a return to the side towards the end of the season, including having the honour of being the last-ever keeper selected by Sir Alex.

Ben Amos: Learned plenty from spending the first half of the season at Hull City, with Steve Bruce's Tigers eventually securing an automatic promotion spot. Returned to be a key figure in a water-tight defence for Warren Joyce's side and lifted the Barclays Under-21 Premier League trophy as an over-aged player.

Sam Johnstone: After helping the U-21s on their way to nationwide success, the England U-20 goalkeeper was farmed out to Walsall in order to gain invaluable experience. A string of fine displays enhanced his growing reputation as the Saddlers were unlucky to miss out on the play-offs.
